a cup for two

It’s pretty much always an experience
sharing a cup

of coffee with anyone,
isn’t it huh? HOW WEIRD
would it be
if

you literally had to share one
cup?

Passing it
back and forth, between?
Measuring pull,
to sip not mean.
Compromise sugar.
Compromise cream.
Two’s better! As different people
will scream. Take coffee their way,
or the wrong way! No!

Take as big of a glug - once
it cools a bit! At first - once
burned, pursed lips blow
hooo! And sit. Oh, such
different ways, with it.
Even seriously, or two glee
full fools! We take
our coffee as grave.
We dig talk sharing
cup, or two
or three

but
cast
your mind back a spell
you could daydream fast.
Imagine how well
and good
and strange
sharing one
could go.

If coincidence came,
or could be arranged
between black and white
bitter and sweet: not
binary, babe!

It's a spectrum between
complete poles, and
a symphony, if you know
and I mean. This theory's

a cup.

It has
one hole.
