stitching spacetime

Travelers knit the world
together in stitching tread
and track and wake. If we all
stayed home, where we were born,
those gaps would widen and separate
and we'd all end up living in separate
worlds.

Because of you, the adventurers,
the world is held in a web of tread
and searching eyes that have known
other lands and seas and skies, and you
hold the thread of it in your minds, and this
is the love that unwinds and binds.
