A Pocketful of Poesy was and is again a Poem-a-Day(-on-Average) Blog! For 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and now for 2017 and going forward, you may expect to see 365 poems every year, 366 for leap years.

but aren't they all random?

further and farther

farther out and further in
goes the circle we've made the world of
now

the center is where we've always been
the edges are where we find ourselves

and we whip around it
at the speed of days, pushing opposite sides
even farther out.

Soon the center contains so much more of us
than anything we've ever cared about,

and I want to go farther than I've ever been,
I want to go further ways with you, further
paths leading down, to farther skies

always looking to fall, never watching
behind - I want to go further and farther in
than anyone's ever been privileged
to try. Leave the world that we've made, this
hula hoop

to shimmy away while whatever we do
takes flight
