Other ways

Violence doesn't work because someone's killing you
Property won't work, because you can't get it, can you?
What you get can't work, because we don't know how to keep
Waking up don't work. At least you have some place to sleep

We need other ways to make life good
Not now
Just things
We wish
We could
find other ways to make life good

Happiness won't work because it's made of missing parts
Global peace would work. But how could anybody start?
Love and trust would work, except we always fail or run.
Waiting peace and calm is way too much to ask someone.

We need other ways to make life good
Not now
Just things
We wish
We could
find other ways to make life good

Greater good don't work, because the greater good ain't us.
Lives of service work, except you're ripped off on the bus.
Beauty works for now, but was it ever any good?
Innocence somehow got lost in could and should and would.

We need other ways to make life good
Not now
Just things
We wish
We could
find other ways to make life good
