This One Is Yours

Do what you will it's a gift given freely
to decorate your sleeve,
or leave on your floor
You can't put conditions on gifts given freely
Except for this, really:
I don't need it no more
Apart from that do what you will, what it tickles
your fancy is free to,
it's at your dispose
To give to Goodwill or your charity preference
It don't make no difference, you know

It's not my heart
girl, this one is yours
Hold it! Keep it!
This one is yours
It's not my heart
now, this one is yours
Break it! Leave it!
That's what it's for
anyhow

It's not as if you or if I were the wrong one.
It's cooperation
that's brought us so far.
So far from so close we can't see the fork taken
that led us away from
where we gave our hearts
When you took yours back, well I don't know exactly
you pulled it so deftly
your touch like a pro
But I don't need mine, you can keep it for practice
it's really quite useless you know

It's not my heart
girl, this one is yours
Hold it! Keep it!
This one is yours
It's not my heart
now, this one is yours
Break it! Leave it!
That's what it's for
anyhow
