tail chaser

I just saw a cat chase
its own tail. Normally 
dogs do that, not cats. 
Cats 
are fantastically better 
at
it.
A flash whirl of form and
fur in pirouette caught my
eye, and I watched it 'til
it stopped, and then 

I understood
what I had 
seen. 

But not why
