when I say "fine,"
I do not mean "okay."
I mean fine: like beauty too sharp to describe
until one has had first the requisite sharp intake
of breath
fine, like sunrise
like the late-morning twilight
that turns towering clouds gold, fine
like treasures
like a blue ocean hit by the sun and lit
by blinding sparks, split
into one hard and sparkling gem
with infinite facets,
shifting cracks
catching
and
tossing
fire
at
us
