less askew

So many things I have to do
So many ways I have to try
So many lives I could yet live,
Only one death I'll get to die.

The timing and nature of that are key.
If I knew the timing, I might postpone.
If I knew the nature, I might avoid.
Since I don't, perhaps

I'd best stay home.

But that could be all death wants of me.
It's just what death might expect me to do.
Death could easily then know where to look,
and find me at home. More or less askew
