She looked a question at him, then
walked it back. He saw it go
all the way, said nothing

but he knew. This

was not
going to
work, was it? Still

it was a question.
If only he knew
- if one of them
only knew.

Because questions
may not deserve answers,
and curiosity might
kill - but sometimes

you ask

and an answer comes.
