I was
unelectrocuted,
when you pulled the plug
then you cut me down
from where you had me strung up
and unstrangled my neck, where
the reddened rope burned
You pulled the bullets out by their holes,
then you turned me over
and over, you looked for all signs
- for poison, you pumped antidote,
then opened my mind,
turning squishy little dials, flipping switches
OFF / ON
I'm perfectly alive, you say
but
something's still gone
