Otherwise and Meanwhile went
for a walk: the longest walk ever off
such a short pier. They had to keep
stopping to make things clear. Otherwise,
they'd never get anywhere. Meanwhile,
they kept starting on again, making such
progress as each could stand. Distracted
by Meanwhile's otherwise point, Otherwise
accused sarcasm again. Meanwhile thought
this was out of hand,
but could not answer back,
since they'd got on a roll
and with heads full of steam
they fell smack in a lake,
and have yet to land. Meanwhile
we wait. Otherwise,
they crept out
and slunk off just so,
probably as planned.
