During the Civil War,
given widespread opportunity
to test the most modern understandings
of psychology and psychiatry in the field
in the field, measures were implemented
to ensure those who participate in war
are sane.
Benefits were immediate,
far-reaching, and
I just made them up, but
they had long had ways
to find out who is insane
when everybody has guns
and you tell them charge
over there
where everybody also has guns,
being as threatening about it
as possible.
It doesn't take a Sigmund Freud.
Besides, Sigismund
was like five at the time.
He hadn't even got his
doctor degree
