parts to show

a perfect set of teeth
to bite and gnash and grind
- so even, fair (though not
quite white - it's only set
against the pink of healthy gums,
they gleam so pale the pink
turns red in shadowed dark)
sit tight concealed behind
full lips, until the smile
parts
to show

the way it is.
