rock acriticism: Rumours

The band's iconic Rumours
was composed in a binge of
Fleetwood Mac. Nicks would
eventually play no dobro. The
band consoled itself by means
of head-turning commercial
stardom, playing around Nicks
on Dreams while she sang. On
Go Your Own Way, a radio deejay
said I don't know about that.
Buckingham called him on it,
demanding explanation. Apparently

he saw his point: beat one of the song
is hard to find. On The Chain, one of
the band's most complicated songs
is holy shit good. Other songs are
just great, leading to a huge reputation.

Fleetwood to
this
day can't explain

how he plays the drums

on this classic soft rock folk pop
masterwork of tunes and jams. It's
because he's dyslexic, he shrugs. When
I was a kid
I admit
I thought it was bullshit
because AC/DC. Now I see
that's bullshit. Fleetwood Mac
and accadacca conflict
in
no

point

Now, almost too many years on,
a sober reassessment shows
oh
I never actually heard this album.
The whole album. But
some of the
tunes are like
old friends whose
family members I never
met. Normal,

if you think about families
and friends
and Rumours
