I love how "preamble" suggests
that what's to come afterwards
will be an amble
It's rarely so, but at least
we have been forewarned,
and gone forward forearmed
in that knowledge.
Perhaps the afterword
will make up for the lack.
It usually won't, but by then
you've already fallen off
the epilogue
