coincidance

There wasn't much
that any one
could ever do
to be with you.

Just if the stars
spun courses out,
and if the fates
coincidance,

and if the two
caught in such paths
are such matched ones
as to be struck
aghast,
askance
in later years,
look back upon such slim threads
tangled tight -

how easily it would be done,
a near-miss passing chance
through life

- that's just about
the only way. That any two
could make you one.

It couldn't have been
forced, or even sought -
such games are rigged,

not won.
