past mastery

mastery is acquired effortlessness
the hardest thing ever to learn.

it takes years
and years, working hard

you train

your eye
and mind
and hand
and arm, and
everything else

involved in the practice you chose,
to devote your work and time. And one day,

you forget all you know, and make beautiful music

or forms and shapes
in space or on paper

or somebody's face,

and away you go

Anything you have to say - question, critique, interpretation, praise or rebuke - is received with gratitude and interest.

If it looks like spam and contains a link, though, it will not be published. I will cherish it to myself, instead. Thank you!
