Once you come
to pick me up, it will be
too late, to shower
and shave and a change of clothes,
and everything else - one last
cigarette, perhaps, before
you pull up to see
the smoke. Please call,
I know about how long the drive takes.
As soon as you call, I will need every minute,
and just
a bit more,
for both our sakes.
