that mountain is as high as it gets
as high as it needs to be, certainly
high enough to keep me from getting over

No doubt about the river, either
that river is as wide as you can see
as wide as you could ask a river to be
wide enough to keep me on this side,
anyway
it's too wide to bridge,
and I can't swim, but
hey, I'll wait
from close inspection
of the foliage, I predict
by late May,
I'll be able to wade
